Germany vs Ghana Preview

Duel between Germany and Ghana will surely be one of the most interesting in this championship, and special curiosity is the duel between two brothers in different national teams. Maybe one of them will not get into the game, but his team has a better chance of victory, because it is one of the major favorites of the World Cup.

As usual, Germany is one of the favorites of the World Cup, confirming it in the first match of the tournament, when they practically demolished a strong national team of Portugal. Although starting line-up of Germany was without top scorer Miroslav Klose and with some strange solutions on the other positions in the team, they beat Portugal easily and convincingly, 4-0. Portugal’s defender Pepe helped the Germans by his reckless and unsportsmanlike gesture so that Portugal remained a man down in the early phase of the match. Experienced German team took advantage of the given opportunity and demonstrated superiority in the rest of the game. Thomas Muller has shown once high class and with three goals scored he has classified himself among the main candidates for the top scorer of the championship. Hummels sustained a minor injury, but he will probably be in the team. Boateng will take his place but there is a risk of exposing him to psychological pressure because of playing against the selection of his country of origin, where his brother plays. Also, I expect Miroslav Klose in the line-up instead of Gotze.

Probable line-up of Germany (4-2-3-1): Neuer – Boateng, Mertesacker, Hummels, Howedes – Lahm, Khedira – T. Kros, Ozil, T.Muller – Klose

Ghana is likely miss the chance to qualify for the knockout stage because of defeat in the first round against the United States. That defeat was not expected, but it has occurred mainly due to a goal received in the first minute, followed by Ghana failed to recover fully. They somehow managed to tie the score, but a new carelessness caused defeat against rival which had been considered as the weakest team in the Group G before the start of the championship. Therefore, they must try to surprise strong German team, and a draw would have been quite a good result that would wake their hope of resuming the competition after the group stage.

Probable line-up of Ghana (4-2-3-1): Kwarasey – Opare, Boye, Mensah, Asamoah – Essien, Muntari – Atsu, Boateng – A. Ayew, A.Gyan

Germany vs Ghana Match Prediction
