FIFA World Cup ticket sales top 2.45 million, 500000 still left

With only a couple of months left for the FIFA World Cup 2022 to begin, the ticket sales in Qatar have touched a record 2.45 million. It was on Thursday, that FIFA revealed the figure for ticket sales, with more than 500,000 seats still available before the tournament begins in Qatar.

According to the latest figures, 520,000 tickets were purchased on a first come first serve basis that closed this week. The most in-demand tickets are for the Serbia v/s Cameroon match.
The United States, England, Mexico, Argentina, France, Brazil, and Germany along with Qatar and neighboring countries Saudi Arabia, and UAE are among the list of top 10 ranked by ticket sales.

Fans have to book tickets through FIFA’s official website, where the cheapest tickets from outside Qatar cost 250 riyals (USD 69). There are a total of 3 million tickets available for the 64-game tournament schedule to begin from November 20 across eight stadiums.
A total of 2 million tickets are available for sale to the general public and 1 million were allocated for FIFA stakeholders such as sponsors and broadcasters, member federations along with hospitality programs.

FIFA stated that total ticket requests went up to 3 million for the World Cup Final on December 18th to be hosted at the new 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium. As of now, FIFA has stopped the Ticket sales for an update about the last round of selling that continues throughout the tournament. Stakeholders also return their tickets which later become available to the general public and also during the world cup with fans of the teams that are eliminated.
